Closed Guard Armbar to Triangle
What happens if your opponent escapes the armbar?
The key is to quickly decide your reaction based on the opponent's action. If the opponent tries to turn the corner, secure the tricep to maintain closeness and grab the pants to hinder their movement.
The essential adjustment involves minimizing hip heaviness; dig the right heel down and lift the hips. This forces the opponent to bear your weight if they continue to turn, effectively impeding their escape. Pull the left knee back towards the nose to swiftly transition into a triangle choke.
For securing the triangle, always keep the head down and hips up, push the opponent’s arm across, and pull down on the head to tighten the choke and secure the submission. This method ensures control is maintained even when an opponent quickly pulls out their arm, allowing for a seamless shift to a powerful finishing position.
