Closed Guard Armbar
This detailed take on the basic closed guard armbar is next level!
Starting by lacing your far arm under to secure the opposite side sleeve to pull the elbow across the center line to disrupt balance.
Use both knees to pull your opponent toward your head and reach around to grab the armpit with your free hand, ensuring your opponent can't easily posture up.
Use your left foot to slightly hip escape out to create a good angle, all while maintaining a firm grip on the gi behind your opponent’s head.
This setup will allow you to control your opponent's movement and create necessary space to execute the technique.
As you pass your leg over the head, make sure to fan your foot outwards to lock the position securely. Finish by driving your hips upward to fully extend and control the arm, finishing the armbar effectively.
